Frequently Asked Questions

  • What happens if the course gets damaged?
We are covered by £5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance, and carry the schedule along with our Health & Safety and Risk Assessment documents with us to all events. Should a venue require proof beforehand, please email us and we will forward you our current cover. We do not accept liability due to damage or loss of either the player’s or the venue’s personal possessions or personal injury whilst playing the mobile golf course, you play at your own risk. We’re well aware that our course will receive minor scuffs and knocks during the event however you agree that compensation for any loss of or damage to Big Wow Events equipment, vehicle(s) and/or personal belongings caused by deliberate or malicious behaviour of your guests, venue customers and/or venue staff may be sought, including any additional costs.
  • Where are you based?
Our base is located in Warrington, Cheshire with easy access to all motorways so we are able to provide UK wide coverage.
  • Can we have the mobile crazy golf course moved halfway through the event?
On occasions, it can be that the drinks reception area and the early evening entertainment area are in different parts of the same venue. We are willing to move the course during the wedding breakfast providing it's within the grounds of the same venue. There would be a fee to move the course which varies dependant on the distance required to move the course and if it’s situated on a different floor.
  • What are your mobile crazy golf payment terms?
Once we receive your booking request we will send you a booking fee invoice of 20% that needs to be paid within 48 hours to secure the date. The booking fee is deducted from your final balance. An invoice for the final Payment is sent out 60 days before the event. For bookings taken at short notice (i.e. those made where the event is less than 60 days from the date of booking) full payment will be required to secure the booking. Payment can be made via Bank Transfer (preferred) or by Debit/Credit card.
  • Do you offer discounts / Can you do it cheaper?
We don’t offer discounts, unfortunately. It requires a lot of work to supply a first class product and service. From prepping, organising, labouring and hosting amongst lots of other things behind the scenes to ensure you get the best all round service, the cost we charge, is what we deem fair for the level of work we do. We don’t compromise on the quality of our service, so we don’t compromise the cost.
  • What happens if it rains on the day of our event?
It goes without saying, British weather can be unpredictable but there is no reason why the weather should stop play if the course has been set up outside. Although our course and equipment are suitable for outdoor use, if you don't want to chance the weather or simply don't want to get wet, we also carry four pop-up gazebos each measuring 3m x 6m that can be hired on the day for £150.00 which cover the whole course. It's very rare, but If the weather becomes extreme including, torrential rain, flooding, thunderstorms and lightning, high winds or snow and ice, then the decision is at our staff member's discretion to stop play and the course be disassembled, immediately. It's not a decision we would take lightly but this is primarily due to Health and Safety and insurance.
  • How far do you travel?
Our standard pricing in our brochure is for events located within 35 miles or a travel time under 1 hour. For anything further or longer, a 45p/mile round trip fuel surcharge will be required. We use Google maps to calculate the distance from Birchwood, Warrington to your venue. If the distance is below 35 miles and travel time is less than 1 hour, no additional charges are incurred. Otherwise, please use the following calculation to work out the additional cost: Miles: subtract the 35 miles that is included in the standard package price, multiply the difference by 2 to get a round trip mileage then multiply by £0.45 to work out the additional charge. Note: If the travel time is greater than 3 hours, an additional £75 will be added to the surcharge to contribute towards necessary overnight accommodation.
  • How long do you provide crazy golf for at our event?
We provide wedding entertainment and corporate entertainment for up to 6 hours with a finish time of no later than 8pm. This does not include the times it takes to set up and disassemble the mini golf course. With regards to weddings, if the wedding ceremony is at the same venue as the reception then we do our best to set up the course before the ceremony starts. This is so your guests can play crazy golf during the drinks reception whilst you have your wedding photographs taken (it also give the photographer/videographer an interesting backdrop). We stay with the course whilst you have your wedding breakfast and continue game-play once the speeches are over and on into the early evening. E.g. If the drinks reception starts at 2pm, we would provide entertainment until 8pm (6 hours). There is an option to extend the hire period for more than 6 hours but would be subject to an additional charge per hour of £75.00.
  • Can children be left unsupervised? Is there a minimum age limit?
Unfortunately, children must be supervised by an adult on the golf course at all times. It is not the responsibility of our staff to supervise any children. There is no age limit in place for our mini golf course, however, our course is simply designed to be played on by adults and children who have the necessary hand-eye coordination to be able to use a golf putter without harming themselves and other players, and causing damage to the course.

Below is a list of wedding mini golf related questions that we get asked, frequently. If you can’t find the answer to your question below, then please email us via: hello@bigwowevents.co.uk
